Porsche Intelligent Performance Press ConferenceA preview of the latest highlights from Porsche

On the evening of 20 November 2010, members of the media and Porsche Centre Malaysia staff gathered on the expansive grounds of the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC) for a preview of the latest highlights from Porsche – Porsche Intelligent Performance.

After a quick registration and light refreshments, CEO of Sime Darby Auto Performance, the official Porsche importer in Malaysia, Mr. Arnt Bayer opened the evening with a presentation on the current outlook for Porsche. Revealing many exciting projects planned for the upcoming months, highlights included the construction of a brand new Porsche Centre at Jalan Bukit Bintang, as well as the launch dates of the new 911 Carrera GTS and Cayman R in 2011.

Following this, he was joined by Head of After Sales, Mr. Christopher Hunter for a technical presentation on Porsche’s hybrid systems. This included the 911 GT3 R Hybrid for the race-track, the Cayenne S Hybrid for everyday driving, and the 918 Spyder – a super sportscar that combines the best of performance with efficiency. Although the Hybrid strategy will include different concepts depending on the Model line, one thing remains constant: all vehicles will be an intelligent combination of better performance, increased efficiency and pure emotion.

Finally, a quick movie was shown, before the main event of the night: the grand unveiling of the 911 GT3 R Hybrid, which was also making its Asia Pacific debut. Journalists then had the chance to get up close and personal with the car, and enjoy a photo session. A further one-on-one interview opportunity with Mr. Bayer and Mr. Hunter was then made available to answer any outstanding questions.
